Arizona Science Outreach

(K-5th)

Bubbles are just plain fun but they're also a fascinating way to learn about some basic science inquiry skills and important concepts of physical science. We'll have a blast producing various bubble creations and also learn how to use a variety of household and recycled items to experiment with bubbles. Our most popular program!

Presentation Program

Our Bubble Blast presentation is an interactive, audience-style program that teaches students about the nature of bubbles, how bubbles are used in modern society, and how to use simple household and recycled materials to create super bubbles! Along the way, we'll visit a number of age-appropriate scientific principles related to bubbles and even demonstrate the magical nature of this wonderful substance!

Hands-on Workshops

Extend the presentation experience with hands-on, science-inquiry workshops! Choose from a variety of workshop themes:

Bubble Art (K-2nd) : a delightful exercise in creativity as students "paint" their own colorful bubble print and more!

Bubble Engineering (K-5th): students engineer their own bubble makers from simple wands to mega structures

Bubble Chemistry (2nd-5th) : teaches why bubbles exist in the first place and how to experiment with the unique properties of water and bubbles.

Bubble Measurement (2nd-5th) : a math and science oriented workshop that challenges students to create their largest bubble and then try to measure it!

Keep in mind, workshop elements can be mixed and matched to develop your own custom workshop!

Program Requirements

Program space must be indoors with minimal drafts and air currents. Bubble presentations may be done in either a carpeted or uncarpeted area as we use a safety tarp. Hands-on workshops are generally messier and require a non-carpeted area. Please have two 5 to 6 foot tables available for use. Access to a sink is required, a mop and bucket might come in handy! Access to an electrical outlet is also required. 30-45 minutes of setup time (preferrably without audience observation) will be needed. Parking with adjacent access to performance / workshop areas is highly appreciated!

Material Fees

Please note that this workshop has a $0.35 materials fee per student in addition to standard program fees.
