Arizona Science Outreach

(2nd-5th)

We take the hands-on experience to new heights as students measure, mix, and mold their own modern-age materials. Along the way, they'll learn about molecules, state change and the nature of chemical reactions.

Hands-on Workshops

Silly Slime (2nd to 5th) : In this hands-on workshop, each student is given the tools and materials required to create their own modern-age polymer material. We begin this program with a short introduction to the history of this material and its uses in modern society. We examine the properties of the initial ingredients and proceed step by step in creating our new material through chemical reaction.

Magic Potions (2nd to 5th) : Students will have a great time experimenting with a variety of wizardly potions while at the same time learning about the nature of acids and bases. A great tie-in to Harry Potter and other magic-oriented themes!
