(1st-5th)


Students learn about some "fun"damental principles of architecture as they are challenged to engineer their own tower out of the materials supplied. We'll introduce some real-world examples using the very same engineering principles.


Hands-on Workshop


Tower of Power (1st to 5th) : After learning how triangular construction using crossbeams provides superior strength in engineering, students are challenged to construct their own tower using this principle.

Program Requirements


One 5 to 6 foot table set up for each 5 to 6 students. An additional 5 to 6 foot table will be needed for the instructor. Access to a sink is helpful but not required. 30 minutes of setup time will be needed. Parking with adjacent access to workshop areas is highly appreciated!

Material Fees

Please note that this workshop has a $0.55 materials fee per student in addition to standard program fees.
